Digital Literacy Pathways works well on most browsers. However, we recommend using Firefox or Chrome for the best learning experience.

If you experience any technical difficulties while engaged with the Digital Literacy Pathways website, please contact us at diglitpathways@gmail.com. We will address your concerns promptly.

If you have questions about any content included in the professional learning series, contact Dr. Jennifer Palilonis, director of Ball State’s Center for Emerging Media Design & Development (jageorge2@bsu.edu) or Kate Shively, Associate Professor of Elementary Education (klshively@bsu.edu).

This cross-curricular approach to digital literacy education explicitly addresses eight key components of digital literacy. This professional learning series also provides educators with an opportunity to join the Digital Literacy Pathways community and share ideas with others about how to effectively teach digital literacy in the K-5 classroom. Most important, Digital Literacy Pathways was created by educators. So, all of the content you will find here is relevant, practical, and informed by real classroom teachers.

Technology is constantly evolving, and Digital Literacy Pathways will continue to evolve with it. In the future, the program will provide updated learning modules, as well as opportunities to attend live meetings and lectures on the topic of digital literacy in the K-5 classroom.

Each module in this professional learning series is worth three professional growth points (PGPs), which can be converted to academic credit at participating institutions. Educators who complete all 10 modules can earn up to 30 PGPs. Certified PGP certificates can be downloaded upon completion of each module.

Your access to the Digital Literacy Pathways website will never expire. So, you will be able to login to the website any time and download PGP certificates for completed modules.

Although each participant may work at a slightly different pace, we estimate that each module will take approximately three hours to complete.
